What we do
www.alcohol-drugs.co.uk is set up by Tim Morrison, former head of training and quality at DrugScope who has written many of the programmes and delivered them nationally. The website seeks to allow a forum that can be used for work to flow between trainers and consultants who have a common vision, set of values and have agreed standards of anti-discriminatory practice.
Courses Tim develops cover many aspects of work in the sector including management, commissioning, core worker skills, treatment models and important issues like child protection and domestic violence.
Within DrugScope he was involved in a range of project work to develop learning opportunities and materials on human resources for the whole sector.
Vision
Our vision is to develop creative ways that enable people to take better control of life and work situations.
To this end we will develop processes that empower people by:
creating safe and enjoyable learning environments
using the evidence base and DANOS (the Drugs and Alcohol National Occupational Standards) to inform course design and delivery
assuring them of their innate skills and unrealised abilities
developing a real sense of self-awareness and self-worth
offering feedback and constructive criticism
