Course Rationale

The definition of stress we use is that stress is ‘a response to the perceived relationship between the demands on us and our ability to cope.’ This course distinguishes between health and unhealthy stress to help people find a balance in their work/ life.

Course Aim: to enable workers to work constructively with their stress levels.

Course Objectives:

By the time the course has finished participants will be able to:-

list their common (workplace)  stressors,

identify how stress affects them physically and emotionally,

describe how their unhealthy stress affects colleagues,

use the stress - response chain to work out strategies to tackle stressful situations,

practice at least one relaxation technique,

implement a personal stress reduction programme.

Course length: two days
