Course Rationale
Many workers have to carry out training as part of their role. Most have not had a chance to reflect on and develop their training skills in a planned and strategic way.
In addition, the introduction of drugs and alcohol national occupational standards means that these have to be used to structure training. This four-day course will enable trainers to be confident in designing, delivering and evaluating training events. It will help them to use the standards to inform the content and delivery of training and maximize the possibilities of the new S/NVQ and qualifications structure. Course Objectives:
On completion of the course participants will be able to:
Describe how to use the component parts of DANOS in training Carry out a basic training needs analysis for a specific event Detail the administrative components of course design and delivery Write training aims and objectives in line with good practice and DANOS Apply theories of group dynamics to training design and delivery Design innovative training materials Recognise and use a variety of presentation styles and methods Identify issues to be resolved in delivering a training event Use a range of evaluation techniques Identify methods of self-support to use whilst training Describe how participants can use the course content and process to help with an NVQ or other award
Duration: four days
