Where to look?

The two best publications to start looking in are:
  • the Guardian Health and Social Care supplement published on Wednesdays. This is available as an rss feed and can be accessed at Alcohol & substance misuse jobs | Guardian Jobs
  • Drink and Drug News is a free online paper published fortnightly with jobs adverts. It should also be required reading for anyone preparing an intereview.

Recruitment websites.

A number of the larger drugs and alcohol treatment services maintain recruitment websites with regularly updated jobs sections.
  • Turning Point is a huge organisation covering much of the UK, their site says " looking for special people with a wide range of skills to join our team; from care workers, project managers, team leaders and clinical specialists to finance managers or marketing and HR professionals."
  • Cranstoun drug services - major multi site services offering services across all 4 tiers of treatment.
  • Lifelines
  • Foundation 66 also covers the full spectrum of treatment and is largely London based.
  • WDP. The Westminster Drugs project has services throughout the south east.
  • Phoenix Futures
  • CRI, The Crime Reduction Initiative is one of the largest employers working throughout all the UK.
  • Compass
