New drugs are appearing all the time and no print based literature can keep up with them all -however very few of them are entirely new these books will help provide a good introduction to the main types of drugs, some of the street names that are used and their effects. Have a look at the specialist pages as well with books on heroin, cocaine, methadone, ketamine, ecstasty, tobacoo, LSD, magic mushrooms and benzos. Particularly useful are Understanding Street Drugs: A Handbook of Substance Misuse for Parents, Teachers and Other Professionals by David Emmett et al and Street Drugs by Andrew Tyler. These are good introductions by the general reader that don't overburden.
